Aftercare

At James Squared Limited, when sourcing our timber, we make sure the environment is at the forefront of our minds. Each piece of timber is hand cut, sanded, treated, and planed to ensure the finest quality is given to our customers. During this process we do not remove any of the timber’s natural markings, giving each piece a unique and rustic style finish.

Like all things in life, wood ages. We want your product to age gracefully so you can enjoy it for as long as possible. Here are some maintenance tips:

We recommend you use placemats and coasters whenever placing something hot on your wood surface, this will be the best way to avoid ring marks. Wiping up any spills as soon as possible will help to reduce stains.

To avoid weakening the joints, never drag furniture, always lift it.

When placing furniture directly on to floors, we recommend you use heavy duty felt pads, or other forms of protection to limit scratches or marks. These can be bought from most hardware stores or online.

When erecting any of our products before screwing it together we suggest drilling a 3mm drill bit into the wood for a pilot hole for the screws.

For any furniture purchases greater than 1 metre in height we will be supplying wall brackets which we recommend installing but this is a personal choice of yours. This is to stop any furniture falling over due to children climbing, leaning on the product etc.
